Bigg Boss OTT Sunday Ka Vaar with Karan Johar was loaded with drama and fights. While the contestants blamed each other for many things that happened throughout the week, Divya Agarwal managed to impress the viewers the most with her confidence and ability to put her opinions forward.

The diva stood against host Karan Johar who started the show by bashing her and her connection Zeeshan over the latter’s ugly fight with Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh.

Netizens slammed Karan Johar for being biased and not taking the responsibility of a ‘fair host.’ Divya, on the other hand, won brownie points from her fans for putting her self-respect in the front.

TV actor and ex-Bigg Boss contestants also slammed Karan Johar and said, “I’ve felt sooo sooooo bad for Zee in today’s episode.. Poor chap he dinn do anythingggggg wrong… literally anything!!! And the way he was treated today. (heartbroken emoji) M sorry but noone has gone there to take shit from him… There is a way of tackling the situations, sirf host banna is not the game you gotta do justice to your post.” In another post, he wrote, “Dear KJo.. Come lemme burst your bubble!!! U ain’t Salman Khan… try talking sense!”

Supporting Divya Agarwal, netizens started trending ‘We Stand By Divya’ on Twitter after the Sunday Ka Vaar episode. Other than lauding Divya for voicing out her opinions, they bashed host Karan Johar for targetting her and being biased towards Shamita Shetty.

One fan wrote, “No matter how many times anyone tries to pull her down, OUR QUEEN always shines bright! Heart on fire A host like him, deserves someone who can give it back to him in his own taste, that’s Divya Agarwal for you ! You go girl! ”

Another tweeted, “#DivyaAgarwal is the only contestant who is not planning plotting for the task  and for future, not doing groups-2, rest HM’s trying make groups, planing for tasks and Divya is just going with the flow, that’s what called the real personality.”

India’s most popular reality show Bigg Boss OTT began streaming yesterday on Voot for the first time. As a part of the “Stay Connected” theme, the girls had to choose one guy to enter the house. Divya Agarwal was the second last contestant and Ridhima Pandit was introduced as the last contestant on the stage. However, in boys only Karan Nath was left, therefore host Karan Johar turned the table and left it on him to pick his partner between Divya Agarwal and Ridhima Pandit. The girls had to woo him and on the basis of which, Karan had to choose between them. He chose Ridhima Pandit over Divya.

After which, Karan announced that Divya has been nominated for the entire week. He also suggested to focus on her game and impress the audience to stay in the house. The eviction process will take place on Sunday. The audience will decide if Divya will stay in the game or not.

Meanwhile, Pratik and Divya got into a verbal spat. Pratik accused Divya of not keeping in touch with him and despite that, she called him her companion. She also said that she doesn’t need this show and he needs it. Divya lost her cool and abused Pratik which left him angry.

Actress Divya Agarwal, who is best known for ‘Splitsvilla 10’ and was also seen in ‘Ragini MMS: Returns’, will play a prominent role in the show ‘Cartel’. She talks about her onscreen character and the challenges faced in doing it.

Divya is playing a mysterious character who is a make-up artist by profession. She shares in detail about her role and says: “I am playing the character called ‘Grissy’ in this show. Interesting aspect about this character is that no one knows her face or her real identity. She is a make-up artist by profession but uses it as her deadly weapon. ‘Grissy’ will bring interesting twists and turns in the show. All I can say is that the audience will get to see an absolutely different side of me.”

She goes in detail about portraying multiple characters: “I play six characters with drastically different looks. From playing an old lady to a transgender — But why am I like that? That is the real mystery. It was exciting to get into those characters, but daunting at the same time.”

Divya further shares on how challenging it was to depict different personalities on screen: “To become a new person with each get up was the biggest challenge. I just didn’t have to put on makeup and start rolling, I also had to change myself completely as a person – right from the body language, accent to dialogue delivery. So while for others ‘Cartel’ was one show, for me it was equivalent to six different shows.”

So Divya’s character has manifold angles and certainly playing such a role is tough as well as exciting too. As she says: “I think playing this character was the most exciting part in itself. This show is that one project that’ll prove my acting mettle. It is an ode to my father, and I say it with utmost pride that whatever I have achieved today is because of his blessings and support. Grissy’s character is really close to my heart.”

Cartel’ has been in the making for a really long time and several times it becomes exhausting for the actors but Divya never gets tired and is completely excited about the launch.

The 28-year-old actress elucidates: “The show has around 138 cast members. And our team was very clear that they wanted everything to be perfect. So the show did take some time, but I and the entire team is immensely proud of the end product. We never felt exhausted.

She adds on her expectation from the show: “I want the audience to watch the show and give their best reviews. I hope this show will help me start a journey with regards to my acting career.”

‘Cartel’ streams from August 20 on ALTBalaji.
