The Indian government has taken a real stance and has appointed a high-level court of inquiry,&#8221; in a statement, the Ministry of Defence stated.</p>
<p>Before landing, the missile traveled more than 100 kilometers within Pakistani territory, at a height of 40,000 feet and at three times the speed, as per Pakistani officials. The missile did not explode because it lacked a warhead.</p>

<p>Lieutenant Colonel Sangeeta Sardana of the Corps of Signals, Lieutenant Colonel Sonia Anand and Lieutenant Colonel Navneet Duggal of the Corps of EME, and Lieutenant Colonel Reenu Khanna and Lieutenant Colonel Ritcha Sagar of the Corps of Engineers have all been selected for the colonel time scale rank.</p>
<p>This is the first time women officers serving in the Corps of Signals, Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME), and Corps of Engineers have been promoted to the rank of colonel, according to a statement released by the Defence Ministry.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On the eve of Independence Day, President Ram Nath Kovind approved gallantry awards for defense personnel, including Shaurya Chakra to three from the army for counter-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir, the defense ministry said on Friday.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Wing Commander Vishak Nair from the Indian Air Force have also been awarded the Shaurya Chakra.  Those from the army who have been awarded the Shaurya Chakra are Lt.Col. Krishan Singh Rawat from the elite Special Forces, Major Anil Urs and Havaldar Alok Kumar Dubey.  Thirty-one army personnel too have been awarded the Sena (gallantry) medal. </p>
