]]>Security forces launched a search operation in the Mochuwa area of Budgam district following inputs about the presence of militants there,a police official said.
He said the search operations turned into an encounter after militants fired upon the forces, who retaliated.
“One terrorist was killed in the encounter . An AK assault rifle and one pistol were recovered from the slain terrorist”, the official said. The identity and group affiliation of the slain militant is being ascertained , he said , adding the search operations in the areas are going on.

]]>“Unfortunately, according to the latest information, a train collision… has killed three and left dozens of people injured,” national rail operator Sprava zeleznic said on Twitter.
“All the passengers have been evacuated from the trains,” the firm added.
National police said all passengers were accounted for, adding that the accident happened shortly after 8:00 am (0600 GMT) at Milavce.
“At the moment, 31 people whose lives are not in danger are being treated, seven people are in a critical state and two are dead”, a spokeswoman for Plzen region rescue teams, Maria Svobodova told iRozhlas.cz
The Munich-to-Prague train, number Ex 351 belonging to the German firm Die Laenderbahn, collided with a regional service between the Czech towns of Plzen and Domazlice.
Several foreigners were travelling aboard the German train and some of them were among the injured, local media reported.
According to footage shown on Czech public television, one part of the German train was completely mangled, though both vehicles remained upright.
Die Laenderbahn said in a statement that “the running of the train on the Czech side is the responsibility of the CD”, the Ceske drahy rail company.
Czech Transport Minister Karel Havlicek said “the Ex 351 did not respect a signal… and crashed into the regional train”.
“The situation is serious,” Havlicek said as he headed to the scene of the accident.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis tweeted his “sincere condolences to the families of the dead. It is important to save other lives. Then everything must be investigated.”
“Unfortunately, this summer is full of tragedies,” he added.
Four helicopters, several ambulances and dozens of rescuers were dispatched to the site.
“The German Red Cross, the Bavarian ambulance service and doctors from (the German city of) Cham are also at the scene of the rail accident,” Czech police tweeted.
“German police have also offered assistance,” they added.
Two train crashes in the Czech Republic in July last year left three people dead and dozens injured.

]]>The Indian Meteorological Department or IMD has forecast isolated, extreme heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand for today.
“Three people died and four people were reported as missing after a cloudburst in Mando village in Uttarkashi district,” Inspector Jagdamba Prasad , Team Incharge, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The western himalayan region and adjoining northwest India are also likely to receive isolated heavy to very heavy rains during the period.

The well is around 50 feet deep with a water level of about 20 feet, news agency PTI reported quoting locals . “The national Disaster Management Force and state Disaster management force have been pressed into action. Inspector General, zone and other official officials have also reached the spot. I am in touch with the Concerned officials,” Mr Chouhan told the media.
Mr Chouchan also announced a compensation of Rs.5 lakh each to the family of the victims, those injured will be given Rs.50,000 provided free treatment facility, he said.
