According to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 35,178 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. With 440 more deaths, the total number of persons who have died currently stands at 4,32,519 people.

The number of active cases in India has decreased to 3,67,415. According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, active cases account for 1.14 percent of overall cases, the lowest level since March 2020.

 

India’s recovery rate, on the other hand, is currently at 97.52 percent, the highest since March 2020. Meanwhile, the Covid-19 immunization coverage has surpassed the 56-crore mark.

According to data from the health ministry, India reported 28,204 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, the lowest number since March 16th. On Monday, 373 deaths were reported, bringing the total to 428,682. The number of active cases has dropped to 3,88,508, the lowest level in 139 days.

According to a preliminary report released by the Centre on Monday, India’s cumulative Covid vaccination coverage has surpassed 510 million (513,914,567).

COVID-19 tally for India crossed 20 lakhs on August 7th, 30 lakhs on August 23rd, 40 lakhs on September 5th, and 50 lakhs on September 16th. It surpassed the 60 lakhs mark on September 28th, then the 70 lakhs mark on October 11th, the 80 lakhs mark on October 29th, on November 20th the 90 lakhs mark, and on December 19th the one-crore mark. India passed the two-crore barrier on May 4th and the three-crore mark on June 23rd.

The Tamil Nadu government stated on Friday that the COVID-19 lockdown will be extended for two weeks, until August 23, with further barriers in place. The prior government-announced lockdown would be enforced until 6 a.m. on August 9. Most significantly, the administration has said that education for grades 9 through 12 would resume on September 1. Karnataka issued a similar announcement on July 6th, stating that schools will resume for grades 10th and up.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, religious institutions will be shut. The administration intends to resume schools for grades 9 through 12 on September 1. The courses will operate with 50% of the pupils adhering to strict COVID-19 standards. Nursing, Medical, and allied colleges will begin on August 16 with different Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Coronavirus illness cases increased by 44,643 in India in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,18,56,757. This is the third day in a row that more than 40,000 new cases have been reported across the country, an increase of almost 2,000 from Thursday’s total of 42,982.

Following the latest statement from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India’s Covid-19 rate of infection is now 4,14,159, or 1.29 percent of the overall cases. It is currently 2.72 percent. Since the previous 11 days, this has stayed below 3%.

Since the epidemic reached India, 47,65,33,650 tests have been screened for the virus, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Friday’s exams included 16,40,287.

Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singh Deo claimed that his province has an excess of oxygen and that no deaths occurred owing to a lack of oxygen during the current phase of the Covid-19 epidemic. Deo made the comments on Tuesday after the Centre notified the Rajya Sabha that no casualties owing to a shortage of oxygen had been expressly recorded by states/Union territories. He also criticized the Centre for taking the credit for everything good and condemning the states for everything wrong.

Aside from Deo, Tamil Nadu health secretary J Radhakrishna stated on Tuesday that the state government guaranteed enough supply of oxygen in both government and private hospitals, adding that no one died owing to a shortage of the existence gas.
