Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that 92 per cent of those who died due to COVID-19 in the state had not taken even a single dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

He said that of the 749 Covid deaths in Meghalaya – the state with second highest mortality rate of 1.68 per cent in the region after Nagaland (1.97 per cent) – at least 691 people were not vaccinated.

The Chief Minister’s statement comes as vaccination hesitancy is affecting the state’s inoculation coverage.

The Ministry of Health and Family welfare had on Wednesday said Meghalaya has inoculated only 74 percent of its healthcare workers with the first dose and only 48 percent people in the category have received their second dose. The state has also performed poorly in terms of vaccinating its frontline workers, those above 45 and those above 18.

So far, nearly eight lakh people have been vaccinated in Meghalaya, including both the first and the second dose.

There have been instances of vaccine hesitancy in several parts of Meghalaya where people aren’t getting vaccinated fearing side effects. Several attempts of the government to spread awareness among people had no major effect so far.

Chief Minister Sangma lamented that there are some elected representatives who have been openly criticizing the vaccination drive.

It will be mandatory for people in the age group of 18 to 44 to register themselves online to get vaccinated which means today i.e. Wednesday from 4 pm  will begin.  The most important thing for this is that people between the age of 18 to 45 years will not be vaccinated without registration.

People above the age of 45 years will get this facility.
Every vaccination-related data will be available on the Co-win app platform.  Let us know that the facility of walk-in has not been provided for people above 18 years of age, whereas for those over 45 years, walk-in facility will be available.

That is, people born before 1 January 1977 can also get vaccinated by directly reaching the vaccination center without registration.  That is, for people above 45 years, the option of onsite registration will remain as before.

A new wave of Corona virus has caused outcry in the country.  On this issue, a hearing was held in the Madras High Court on Monday.

The High Court has held the Election Commission responsible for the second wave of Corona, because the Election Commission did not stop the election rallies even after the Corona crisis.

Madras High Court Chief Justice S.  Banerjee said during the hearing that the Election Commission is responsible for the second wave of Corona.  The court said that if the murder charge is imposed on the Election Commission officials, it will not be wrong.
In court, when the Election Commission responded that the covid guidelines were followed on their behalf, the rules were followed on voting day.
The court was angry at this and asked if the Election Commission was on the second plane when the campaign was going on.
The court gave a stringent warning The court has also warned that if the guidelines related to covid are not followed on May 2 and its blueprint is not prepared, then it will ban the counting of votes.

The court said during the hearing that the issue of health is very important, but the matter of concern is that the court has to remind it.  This time the situation has become such that one has to struggle to stay alive.

The High Court has now directed the Election Commission that it should make a plan with the Health Secretary and prepare for the counting day.  The High Court has asked to make a plan by April 30.

Corona’s havoc escalated between elections, let us tell you that elections have been held in five states of the country during the Corona period itself.

Elections have ended in four states, while voting is still going on in Bengal.  After the end of voting in the electoral states, many restrictions have been imposed due to the increase in the corona cases.
If we talk about the whole country, then every day around three and a half lakh cases are coming in the country.

Whereas the situation has now become uncontrollable.  From Delhi to major cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Lucknow and Kolkata, there is a shortage of beds, lack of oxygen and the condition of patients is poor.

New Delhi: To curb the growing cases of coronavirus, the Delhi government imposed a 6-day lockdown, which began at 10 pm on April 19.  The duration of this lockdown is scheduled to end at 5 am on Monday, so Sunday is today the last day of the lockdown.  Let me tell you that the possibility of extending the lockdown seems more likely, given the rapid pace of coronavirus cases and the way in which all the arrangements are falling in front of it.
A Delhi government source said, “The short-term lockdown was aimed at controlling the number of cases as well as gaining time to strengthen the health infrastructure.”  However, the situation has gone from bad to worse. In such a situation, extending the lockdown for another week is a possible option. ”
In the local circle survey, 68% people said to increase the lockdown by one week, while most of the business organizations of Delhi are also in favor of increasing the lockdown.  In the kind of situation that is going on, the Delhi government is also now trying in some way to somehow reduce the load of patients and improve the situation, but there is a possibility that if the lockdown is over,  So the people will once again come out and the infection will spread rapidly and the system in hospitals will further deteriorate.
At the same time, let us tell you that due to the rapid situation in Delhi and the number of corona infected patients is increasing, the Health Department has given up.  According to sources in the health department, patients are not able to get a place in the hospital due to lack of adequate resources.  As compared to the demand in Delhi, very little oxygen is being available, due to which the death toll of patients is increasing, so a few days more lockdown can be tried to control it.

India is severely battling the Corona virus crisis and meanwhile a major accident took place in Nashik, Maharashtra on Wednesday.

In Nashik, 24 patients have died after the Oxygen Leak at Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital, while many people are said to be in critical condition.  During this time, the people present in the hospital have told about the scary events during the oxygen supply stop.
23-year-old Vicky Jadhav said that after the supply of oxygen was stopped, there was a scary situation inside the hospital.
During this time, many people started running away from the bed of dead patients with oxygen cylinders (Oxygen Cylinder) to save their families.
Vicky Jadhav said that his 65-year-old grandmother Sugandh Thorat also died in the oxygen leak incident in the hospital.

He said, ‘When I reached the hospital on Thursday afternoon, my grandmother was breathing, but in a short time the gas leaked and there was an atmosphere of chaos in the hospital premises.’

Vicky Jadhav said, ‘It was painful to see people dying in front of their eyes in less than an hour and in the meantime, many people were putting oxygen cylinders of the dead in their patients’ bodies to save the lives of their families.  When I saw people doing this, I also arranged for oxygen for grandmother, but before that grandmother’s breath had stopped.

The risk of corona epidemic is increasing once again across the country.  In view of this, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written a letter to PM Modi to suggest that the vaccination program should be expedited and that people above 18 years of age should also be allowed to get vaccinated.

At this time, the Central Government has approved the installation of Corona Vaccine to all persons above the age of 45 and from April 1, people aged 45 years can visit their nearest center and get the Corona vaccine dosed online or offline.
All people above the age of 18 years should be approved for corona vaccination.

Free walk-in covid vaccination should be available to everyone at the nearest possible place of citizens.
Family clinics and private hospitals in the private sector should also be actively involved in vaccination drives.  The availability of vaccination with all doctors and family physicians will have a positive impact on the vaccination drive.

Vaccine task force teams should be formed at the district level under the PPP model.  Their task will be to get more and more people vaccinated, to monitor those who have got vaccinated, and to create trust among people about it.  IMA wants to play an active role in this.

Vaccination certificate should be made compulsory for admission to public places and for making purchases under Public Distribution System (PDS).
In case of corona virus cases are increasing again, in order to break the chain of this infection, lockdown should be imposed for a limited time on non-essential activities like cinema, cultural and religious events and sports.

Corona virus has not wreaked havoc in the country.  The second wave of corona virus is constantly scaring.  How dangerous the second wave is, can be gauged by the fact that in the last 24 hours, there have been 96982 new cases of Corona virus in the country.

During this time, 446 people have died.  According to the Ministry of Health, the total cases of infection have reached 12,686,049 in the country so far.  5.89 percent of the total cases are active cases.

The number of active cases in the country has increased to 7,88,223.  50143 recovery has been done within 24 hours.  The total recovered cases have been 1,17,32,279.  After 446 new deaths, the number of people who died of this disease in the country has reached 1,65,547.
