<p>Kerala reported 30,196 new cases in the last 24 hours, accounting for nearly half of all new cases. With 338 more deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 4,41,749 people. Chiron Behring, a subsidy of Bharat Biotech in Ankleshwar, Gujrat to produce 200 million doses of Covaxin per annum. This will take the Covaxin doses up to 1 billion per annum, according to the company.</p>
<p>Earlier, Bharat Biotech had deployed multiple production lines at its Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses to meet the country&#8217;s growing need of vaccine. There was a drastic drop in the speed of the national vaccine drive due to depleted stocks of vaccine.</p>
<p>The company ramped up capacities at its own established campuses that are specialized in manufacturing inactivated viral vaccines under the highest levels of biosafety.</p>
