After a meeting at the state Congress Bhawan, he referred to Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and the four working presidents as &#8220;Panj Pyare.&#8221;</p>
<p>The term ‘Panj Pyare&#8217; is used in Sikh tradition to refer to the Guru&#8217;s five beloveds. Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and final Guru, initiated five men into the ‘Khalsa&#8217; order in 1699. The name ‘Panj Pyare&#8217; refers to a group of five baptized Sikhs who execute a baptism ritual to initiate Sikhs into the ‘Khalsa&#8217; order.</p>
