										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Chief Justice of India NV Ramana said today he was &#8220;extremely upset&#8221; over media reports on a Supreme Court collegium&#8217;s recommendations on new judges and urged the media to be &#8220;responsible&#8221; in reporting such news. The top judge said reports on appointments even before any formal announcement are &#8220;counterproductive&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#8220;The process of appointment of judges is sacrosanct and has certain dignity attached to it. Media friends must understand and recognise the sanctity of this process,&#8221; the Chief Justice said, speaking at the farewell of a judge, justice Navin Sinha.</p>
<p>&#8220;There were instances of deserving career progression of bright talents getting marred because of such irresponsible reporting and speculation. This is very unfortunate and I am extremely upset about it. I appreciate maturity and responsibility displayed by majority of senior journalists and media houses in not speculating on such serious matter,&#8221; Justice Ramana said.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thomas Bach, chief of the International Olympics Committee on Saturday cleared that Olympics is on schedule in Tokyo. The Japanese population is continuously protesting to cancel the Olympics due to the increasing corona cases. The IOC president said that the Olympics was already postponed in the year 2020. Hosting the Olympics at this time will prove that there is still light in the darkness.</p>
<p>He said,&#8221;With Tokyo Olympics finally on the horizon, the final countdown has begun. During this difficult times, we need to send a strong message of resilience, unity and our diversity&#8221;.</p>
<p>Despite of the fact that most Japanese are protesting against the Olympics, the IOC remained unwaivered. People are protesting for the cancellation due to the surge in Corona cases.</p>
<p>Regarding this, Bach said,&#8221;The safety and security of everyone is utmost priority. But together with our Japanese colleagues we will have to ensure that our athletes can come together and compete in a safe environment. Over 70 per cent athletes and officials have already been vaccinated and this number will grow with time. We have also received offers from three vaccine producers for vaccination&#8221;.</p>
