										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Supreme Court, today, August 31, has adjourned a petition which sought directions to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to declare the results of the Private Patrachar students and 2nd Compartment students on the similar lines as that of the regular students. The Supreme Court will now hear the matter on September 3.</p>
<p>The Supreme Court plea sought directions to change the date sheet of CBSE Class 12 Private Patrachar and Compartment exams Students so that the CBSE exam dates do not clash with the competitive exams and common entrance tests held for admission to undergraduate courses.</p>
<p>The plea filed in the Supreme Court has also sought directions to ensure that the colleges and universities shall admit students who were to appear for the Private Patrachar exams and 2nd Compartment exams on a provisional basis and not reject their applications due to the delayed results.</p>
<p>As per reports, a Bench comprising Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice KK Maheshwari has directed a copy of the petition to be served to the Standing Committee of the respondents. The respondents, in the Supreme Court plea are CBSE, All India Council for Techincal Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC).</p>
<p>The CBSE board offline improvement has already started on August 25 and will continue till September 15, 2021. The board has declared the results of Class 12th on July 30. The overall pass percentage this year in the CBSE Class 12 results is 99.37 per cent.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked schools to prepare a list of candidates for next year&#8217;s Class 10 and Class 12 board exams and make necessary arrangements to register Class 9 and Class 11 students with the board. The CBSE said it will soon launch a portal for registering students and for uploading lists of candidates. Schools should do advance preparation so that LOC submission and registration of students can be done correctly.</p>
<p>It is desired from the schools to kindly make necessary preparations so that both LOC and registration could be done within schedule provided&#8230;advance preparations made by the schools will help them in submission of LOC and registration correctly,” CBSE’s Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said in a letter addressed to school principals and head of institutions.</p>
<p>CBSE had to cancel both Class 10 and 12 board exams this year and use alternative policies for publishing results. To avoid such a situation again, 2022 board exams will be held in a new pattern.</p>
<p>CBSE Class 10, Class 12 board exams 2022 will be in two terms and each term will have 50 per cent of the total syllabus.</p>
<p>“This is done to increase the probability of having a board-conducted Classes 10 and 12 examinations at the end of the academic session,” the CBSE had said.</p>
<p>While the term 1 board exam will be conducted between November-December 2021, with a window period of 4-8 weeks, the second term will be held around March-April 2022.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Students of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII are likely to have their results based on their performance in the finals of class X and XI exams and class XII pre-board tests.</p>
<p>Principals told sources that the CBSE-appointed 13-member committee to recommend the criteria to evaluate Class XII students seems to be in favour of a 30:30:40 formula—30% weightage will be given to class X and XI final results, respectively, and 40% to class XII pre-board exams.</p>
<p>The committee is expected to announce the marking formula after submitting it to the Supreme Court on June 17. Last month, parents had filed a PIL in the SC seeking cancellation of CBSE Class XII exams due to the pandemic.</p>
<p>More weightage should be given to the Class XII periodic tests, pre-board marks, and internal assessments,” said a principal, adding that incorporating Class 11 marks will be unfair as students do not take standard XI seriously.</p>
<p>A city college principal said that CBSE can evaluate students from 2018-19 onwards as they continue their education in the same school after Class X. “State students migrate from school to college and marking them for Class X performance will be tedious,” said the principal, indicating that the state should not adopt the formula if implemented.</p>
<p>Students and parents are anxious about the CBSE assessment formula. “It was better to take an exam and get marks rather than be evaluated for previous years,” said a parent. States are looking at a uniform marking formula for all Class XII students. HSC students in Maharashtra are still awaiting their evaluation formula.</p>

The move came two days after the Centre, keeping in mind the prevailing Covid conditions, cancelled the board&#8217;s Class 12 exams for the academic year 2021.</div>

<div>PM Modi on June 1 decided to cancel the exam following a meeting attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, and Central Board of Secondary Education chief Manoj Ahuja.</div>

<div>The board will now gauge students&#8217; progress over the past year based on well-defined objective criteria, the Prime Minister&#8217;s Office had said following the announcement. The move has been widely welcomed across the country.</div>

<p>Central universities are facing a huge dilemma due to the cancellation of the CBSE Class XII examinations. The  University authorities are awaiting notice from the government regarding the admission procedure of the Undergraduate courses.</p>
<p>It is yet to decide whether the admission be based on entrance examinations or the merit lists. On the other hand, common entrance test is also a part of the new National Education Policy. Yet the education ministry needs to take a final decision.</p>
<p>The admission process might also be delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. For the last few years, the central government and UGC are making decisions on behalf of the universities, hence no action can be taken for now.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Ministry of Education has received various suggestions regarding the class 12th board examination. It includes- conducting exams only for the main subjects, giving marks based on an internal assessment, or conducting the examination phase-wise.</p>
<p>PTI news agency quoted, citing the CBSE sources,&#8221;Conducting pen and paper mode exams for only major subjects, conducting all exams in two phases planned as per the COVID-19 situation in different states and districts, or cancelling the exams and announcing results as per an alternative assessment scheme&#8221;.</p>
<p>Ramesh Pokhriyal &#8216;Nishank&#8217;, Union Education Minister, will take these suggestions to the meeting scheduled on May 23. The principals of the schools have varied views on the matter.</p>
<p>Sangeeta Hajela, Principal of DPS Indrapuram said,&#8221;For subjects with very few enrollments, the OTP linked delivery of paper to be printed and conducted at home Centres, is also a possibility&#8221;.</p>
<p>Rajat Goel, Director of MGR Universities said,&#8221;There can be another part of aptitude test that can be made an intrinsic part of question papers as it will help them in passing the entrance exams of various universities or colleges&#8221;.</p>
