										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tesla Inc is likely to set up a factory in India if successful with imported vehicles, Chief Executive Elon Musk said on Twitter, after the company wrote to Indian ministries seeking a big reduction in import duties on electric vehicles, according to two sources with knowledge of the matter.</p>
<p>The electric-car maker&#8217;s pitch to lower duties, however, is likely to face resistance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#8217;s administration which has championed high import taxes for many industries in a bid to boost local manufacturing.</p>
<p>&#8220;We want to do so, but import duties are the highest in the world by far of any large country,&#8221; Musk said in reply to a tweet about launching the company&#8217;s cars in India.</p>
<p>&#8220;But we are hopeful that there will be at least a temporary tariff relief for electric vehicles,&#8221; Musk added.</p>
<p>Other luxury automakers in India have also lobbied the government in the past to lower taxes on imported cars but have had little success due to opposition from rivals with domestic operations.</p>
<p>Tesla, which aims to begin sales in India this year, said in a letter to ministries and the country&#8217;s leading think-tank Niti Aayog that slashing federal taxes on imports of fully assembled electric cars to 40% would be more appropriate, according to the sources.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Union Minister Shripad Naik and his wife succumbed to the accident on Monday.  Shripad Naik is injured in a road accident while his wife lost her life.  Both the people were admitted to the government hospital after the accident.<br>    After treatment Shripad Naik&#8217;s condition is said to be stable and he is in a conscious state.  But his wife succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.  It is being told that six people were riding in Shripad Naik&#8217;s car.<br>     The accident took place in Akola in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka.  During that time, Shripad Naik was going somewhere with his wife.  It is being told that Shripad Naik&#8217;s wife was unconscious after the accident and did not feel conscious for a long time.  The doctors later declared him dead. Shripad Naik is currently being shifted to a Goa hospital.  At the same time, PM Modi has spoken on the phone to the CM of Goa to ensure proper arrangements for treatment of Shripad Naik in Goa.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called the Chief Minister of Goa and asked him to make proper arrangements for the treatment of Shripad Naik. According to news agency ANI, this incident happened when they were going from Yelapur to Gokran in Uttara Kannada district.  At the moment, the police have registered a case and the case is being investigated.  Please tell that Shripad Naik is the Minister of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy and Minister of State for Defense.</p>
