Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on August 16 that the Narendra Modi government is paying for reduction in prices of petroleum products during the time of Manmohan Singh government, due to the interest and principles having to be repaid on oil bonds from that period.

Sitharaman said that as of 31 March, 2021, there were Rs 1.31 lakh crore in outstanding principles and Rs 37,340 crore in interest yet to be repaid on these oil bonds.

“We should have released a white paper in 2014 listing out all that we inherited from the previous government. Oil bonds were a big part of that. The previous govt had reduced to prices but that burden had to be taken by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) through these oil bonds,” Sitharaman said at a media interaction, on being asked whether the Centre would follow Tamil Nadu’s example and slash excise duty on fuel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, in his address to the nation, appealed to the countrymen not to take any kind of laxity in the case of Corona.

At a time when there is a festive season in the country and the market is growing crowded and there is talk of flying social flags in many places.PM said people should not forget that even though the lockdown is gone  But the corona virus is not yet gone.

He tried to explain his point through the couplets of Sant Kabir and a Soratha of Ramcharit Manas.

In his address, the Prime Minister said that Sant Kabir has said, ‘Look at ripe farming, farmers are proud.  There is a lot of baggage, you know when you come home ..

‘The PM said that many farmers are happy after seeing the crop ripened in the field, but the crop can not be considered fully ripened until the work is completed.

What he meant to say is that one should not be negligent until success is achieved.  Through this couplet of Saint Kabir, the PM tried to explain that until the vaccine of Corona comes, we should not let the battle weaken a whole lot.

Taking forward his point about the Corona epidemic and the precautions to be taken to deal with it. PM Modi said that if there are many instructive things in the Ramcharit Manas, there are warnings. That means  enemies, diseases, fire, sins, masters and snakes should not be considered small.

Referring to the Ramcharit Manas, the PM gave the message that the disease should not be taken lightly until it is fully cured, there is no laxity until the medicine is done. He said that the festival time is a time of joy but little carelessness is heavy  May be required.

The broad reach of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh has been the basis of many leaders and activists from other parties and now the BJP has started making a political dent in the family of the top leadership of the Samajwadi Party.
The party has started this by giving the ticket of Ward Panchayat member from ward number 18 to Sandhya Yadav, outgoing vice-president of the district panchayat in Mainpuri.
Sandhya Yadav is the niece of Mulayam Singh, the founder president of Samajwadi Party, the daughter of his elder brother Abhairam Yadav and sister of Dharmendra Yadav, a former SP MP from Badaun.
Sandhya Yadav had won the election of the District Panchayat President on the Samajwadi Party ticket in the year 2015, but this time she has joined the BJP.
Sandhya Yadav’s husband Anujesh Pratap Yadav says that despite being a relative of the top leadership, the party did not honor him, so first he and now his wife have joined the BJP.
Anujesh Pratap Yadav says, “There is nothing new in this. I joined the BJP in the year 2017 itself and while I am here,  and my wife does not mean to be in any other party. When the motion of no confidence against us  If brought, it was the BJP that helped us and increased our respect. I was in the Samajwadi Party on my own free will, nobody was a slave. “
Sandhya Yadav became the district panchayat president of Mainpuri in 2015.  In July 2017, the Samajwadi Party had brought a motion of no confidence against her, but due to manipulation, the no-confidence motion could not be passed.
