<p>The counting of ballots for the critical byelection to the Bhawanipur seat in south Kolkata, where TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is running for re-election as chief minister, began at 8 a.m. under strong security presence. Votes are also being tallied for the Jangipur and Samserganj assembly constituencies in the state&#8217;s Murshidabad district, as well as the Pipili constituency in Odisha.</p>
