Veteran TMC leader and Bengal minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay who currently holds  Bhowanipur says he will vacate assembly seat.

as per Article 164 which states that a minister who for any period of six consecutive months is not a member of the Legislature of the State shall at the expiration of that period cease to be a Minister.  Mamata Banerjee is likely to contest the bypoll from Bhowanipur assembly constituency.

In case the EC doesn’t hold elections within six months, the duration in which Banerjee has to become an MLA to remain chief minister, the Trinamool Congress is ready with another plan.

In West Bengal, both TMC and BJP are claiming their respective victories.  Now it has to be seen that on whom does the people of Bengal trust?
Will Mamata Banerjee hit the hat-trick of power or will the BJP show its stamina like Lok Sabha Elections 2019?

Let us know that the first phase of the 294 assembly seats in the state started on March 27, while the last phase was voted on April 29.

Early trends of election results are coming out in Bengal.  Till now initial trends have come in 242 seats and there is a tough competition between TMC and BJP.

The TMC government seems to be forming in the election result trends so far.  TMC is leading in 202 seats.
SP President Akhilesh Yadav has congratulated Mamta Banerjee on this.  Akhilesh Yadav wrote that Pt.  Heartfelt congratulations to the conscious public. The militant Mamata Banerjee and the dedicated TMC leaders and activists who defeated the politics of hate of BJP in Bengal.

This is a befitting reply given by the public to the derogatory sarcasm ‘Didi O Didi’ by a woman from the BJP.

On the question related to constitutional breakdown and President’s rule in the state, the Governor of West Bengal said that I will not comment on this, but whatever happened yesterday was an alarming situation.  This was an event that pushed the democratic system.  You will not believe that when I came to know about the visit of BJP national president in the morning, I alerted the state DGP at 8 am.  Apart from this, I was also in touch with the Chief Secretary.
During a conversation with senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, Governor Dhankar further said that I had shared the information of the program with all of them at 8 pm.  And after 19 minutes after that I received the message of the Chief Secretary at 8.19.  He said that I have alerted the DGP.  Half an hour later, when I received information about the violent behavior of the people.
