										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>R Ashoka, Karnataka&#8217;s revenue minister, said on Friday that tight measures would be implemented in the state capital and other districts after August 15 to curb the spread of Covid-19 from Kerala and Maharashtra.</p>
<p>The minister in charge of Covid-19 management here claimed there is no suggestion before the government to impose lockdown in the city, even though a conference under the leadership of chief minister Basavaraj Bommai will be convened soon to consider the measures.</p>
<p>He told reporters here that the number of virus cases in Bengaluru is progressively decreasing, therefore there may not be a major problem. He admitted to making mistakes during the second wave but added that by correcting them, the government is taking steps to prevent the third wave from occurring by raising awareness, establishing pediatric wards, and training pediatricians, among other things.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that a district magistrate will hold an inquiry into Tuesday&#8217;s violence in Bengaluru and said so far 146 people have been arrested.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br>Congress MLA Srinivas Murthy&#8217;s nephew was arrested for allegedly sharing a &#8216;derogatory&#8217; post on social media that triggered last night&#8217;s violence in which two persons died and around 60 police personnel sustained injuries.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br>The police said that accused Naveen has been arrested allegedly for posting derogatory posts. Murthy&#8217;s house was also vandalized by miscreants following the social media post by his nephew Naveen.<br><strong>&#8211; ANI</strong></p>
