<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Air India, a debt-ridden state-run airline, is set to get a new owner this time.  Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri (Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri) today said that the government has decided to sell Air India completely (100% disinvestment).  He said that the government has no option but to privatize it or shut it down.<br> Puri said, &#8220;We have decided that 100 per cent of India will be privatized.  It does not have the choice of privatization or non-privatization.  The government has no option but to disinvest or close it.  Air India is a first class asset but the company has a debt of 60 thousand crores.  We have to overcome this situation.  In the last meeting held on Monday, it was decided that the shortlisted bidders would be told that there would be 64 days for the bid.  This time the government is fully committed and there is no dilemma in it.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Air India Express on Wednesday informed that 85 passengers injured in the plane crash in Kozhikode have been discharged from hospitals after &#8220;obtaining complete fitness&#8221;.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br>&#8220;As on date, 85 injured passengers have been discharged from various hospitals after obtaining their complete fitness. AIR INDIA EXPRESS LIMITED will release further information as soon as it is available,&#8221; the letter from the organisation read.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br>The Air India Express flight carrying 190 passengers including 10 infants skidded while landing at Karipur airport in Kozhikode on August 7.<br>Earlier, Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that an inquiry has been ordered under the Aircraft Act, black boxes of flight IX-1344 have been recovered and added that the findings of this investigation will be made public. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The pilots of the ill-fated Air India Express Flight No IX 1344 from Dubai to Kozhikode has been identified as Captain Deepak Vasant Sathe and First Officer Akhilesh Kumar.  Captain Sathe was a former Indian Air Force Test pilot. He was commissioned into service in 1981 and served in the force for 22 years.  </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"> Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the phone after an Air India Express plane coming from Dubai overshot the runway at the Kozhikode airport on Friday. He was informed by the chief minister that a team of officials including Kozhikode and Malappuram district collectors and IG Ashok Yadav have arrived at the airport to participate in the rescue operation. </p>
