Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie’s christening will be held on July 6 at Queen Elizabeth’s private chapel at Windsor Castle, People reports. Royal sources told People that Meghan and Prince Harry finalised the chapel as the venue as they “wanted an intimate, peaceful setting in a place with such a special connection to Her Majesty.”

Archie’s christening will be a private affair held in the presence of 25 close family members and friends. The Express, though, had recently reported that the Queen may not attend owing to a “previous engagement.”

Photos from the event are expected to be released on July 7. “This is a beautiful milestone and they are excited to share it as a family first and then with the world,” the source added.

Last month, Royal commentator Camilla Tominey had said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will “buck tradition” slightly during Archie’s christening ceremony, as per a report in the Express.

For the ceremony, Archie will wear a traditional outfit – a replica of the Honiton lace christening gown, Camilla Tominey had said. The Queen got a replica of the gown made as the original piece had become quite “fragile” considering it was worn by 62 royal babies during their christening ceremonies.

Archie was born to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 6.
