Amazing achievment of Ajinkya Rahane. no player could accomplish such feat in 142 years.

Indian Test Team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane scored a century against South Africa on Sunday in the Ranchi Test. He scored 115 runs off 192 balls and shared a 267-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Rohit Sharma (212). Rahane hit 17 fours and a six in his innings. Although he made many records in his innings, but one record is such that very few people were noticed. Rahane has played 61 Test matches so far and he has not been run out even once. Also, he has become the first such batsman to join 200 partnerships without being run out. During this time neither he nor his partner have been run out.

Only 5 batsmen have played 100 innings without being run out
There are only 5 such batsmen, including Rahane, who have reached 100 innings in their test career without being run out. These include Kapil Dev, Mudassar Nazir, Peter May, Graeme Hick and Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane-Rohit pushed South Africa on the backfoot.
In the Ranchi Test, the partnership of Rahane and Rohit made the South African hopes wind up. Both of them took Team India to a strong position when battling the initial setbacks. Beyond the foundation of these two partnerships, India declared the innings by scoring 497 runs for 9 wickets. After this, 2 wickets of South Africa also fell on the cheap. By the end of the second day’s play, South Africa were behind by 488 runs on the basis of first innings.
Rahane’s 11th Test century. Ajinkya Rahane completed the 11th century of his Test career during the second day’s play. This was his first century in India after 3 years. Prior to this innings, he scored an innings of 188 runs against New Zealand in 2016. This is Rahane’s third century against South Africa. Earlier in 2015 in Delhi, he scored a century against this team in both innings of a match. After 12 years, Mumbai’s batsmen have lit up. Apart from this, after 12 years, Mumbai’s two batsmen have scored centuries in an innings in the Test while playing for India. This happened in 2007 before Rahane and Rohit. Sachin Tendulkar and Wasim Jaffer of Mumbai had scored centuries in the Test match against Bangladesh.
