In view of increasing cases of corona virus in the state, the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) has decided that banks will open for customers for only four hours from Thursday to May 15 in Uttar Pradesh.  Banks will be open for customers from 10 am to 2 pm.

This decision has been taken in view of the upsurge in covid cases in the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting through video conferencing on Wednesday.

SLBC officials said that from Thursday, banks will open only 4 hours for customers in the state.  However, the employees will continue to do internal works till 4 pm.

United Forum of Banks Union spokesperson Anil Tiwari said, “This decision has been taken to protect the bank employees. Only 50 percent of the employees will work on rotation basis. New rules will be implemented in all public and private banks from Thursday.”

”  Also, it has been said that after assessing the status of covid in the state, the decision can be extended from May 15 onwards.
