Assembly elections in as many phases as the challenge in five states

The Election Commission is the constitutional body of the country and respect for its decision and fairness is associated with democratic religion. Election Commission has announced election dates in five states on Friday. In order to ensure fair, fear-free elections where there are major challenges, the Commission has announced to vote in as many stages. There are a total of 822 assembly seats in five states. Of these, elections will be held in eight phases on 294 seats in West Bengal. 126 seats of Assam will be voted in three phases. The remaining three states (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry) will have elections in 402 seats in a single phase.Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said that Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu will go to the polls on April 6 in a single phase. The first phase in Assam will be on 27 March, the second on 01 April and the third on 06 April. There will be eight phases of elections in West Bengal. The first phase will be completed on 27 March, the second 01 April, the third 06 April, the fourth 10 April, the fifth 17 April, the sixth 22, the seventh 26 and the eighth election phase on 29 April. In this way, the counting of the four Union Territories and one Union Territory will be held on May 2. Significantly, after coming to Puducherry recently in a minority, Chief Minister V Narayan Sami resigned from the post and now elections have been announced there too.BJP leader and West Bengal state president Dilip Ghosh has welcomed the announcement of the Election Commission. BJP Vice President Rajkamal Pathak said that the election notification has been issued now. The people of the state are ready for change and with the election results coming on May 2, its wait will end. Trinamool Congress MP Abhijeet Banerjee said that it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct fair elections. People should participate in fair, fearless elections, vote. Nobody scares anyone and nobody threatens. Banerjee said that the entire focus is on Bengal in the Election Commission announcement. NDA’s target is also visible. The TMC MP says that the competition is tough this time, but there is nothing to worry about. Secular government will come to power in the state. Even if it is mixed and includes many seculars.
