The coal scam in West Bengal has now reached traders, officials and Trinamool leaders. The CBI and ED on Friday conducted searches at the locations of businessmen close to the Trinamool. The raids have been carried out at homes and offices in South Kolkata, Asansol. The agencies have raided 15 places. In the same case, in early December last year, the office of CA Ganesh Bagaria of Kolkata was raided. This action was done by the CBI team. Two days ago in this case, the CBI questioned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s daughter-in-law Rujira Banerjee and Rujira’s sister Maneka Gambhir. Information about money transactions and sources of income has been obtained from both. According to sources, now CBI is investigating the bank accounts and assets of all these. ED has also been included in the investigation. Trinamool leaders have been accused in the coal scam. It also includes the name of Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The investigation into the coal scam began in September last year. Since then, BJP has been alleging that TMC leaders converted black money from coal scam into white money through shell companies. The biggest beneficiary of this has been Abhishek, the nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
