Questions have been raised about the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in the country. In view of this, preparations are also being made to provide voting option through ballot with EVMs in Maharashtra. Assembly Speaker Nana Patole has directed to make a law in this regard. If the legislation is approved in the Legislature, then EVMs will be voted in the local body and assembly elections through ballot.
On Tuesday, Assembly Speaker Patole held a meeting at the Vidhan Bhavan to give voters of the state the option of ballot with EVMs. During this, he prepared a proposal to provide voting facility through ballot with EVM under Article-328 of Indian Constitution to Rajendra Bhagwat, Secretary, Legislature Secretariat, Baldev Singh, Chief Electoral Officer of the state and Secretary of Law and Justice Department, Bhupendra Gurav. Instructed to do.He said that this will enable voters to vote as they wish. Also, the voting percentage will also increase. In fact, Satish Ukay of Nagpur has filed a petition with the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly under Article 328 of the Constitution to make a law in relation to providing ballot options in the state. The Speaker called a meeting to discuss this.
