Heavy rain in most parts of north-west India till July 30

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread and heavy rain in most parts of northwest India till July 30. IMD also issued a  moderate rain warning for many parts of Delhi today.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread and heavy rain in most parts of northwest India till July 30. IMD also issued a  moderate rain warning for many parts of Delhi today.

The official report stated that a cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and nearby others states. The western end of the monsoon trough at mean sea level is running along with its normal position while its eastern end runs close to the normal position. The western end is likely to shift northward within tomorrow, bringing heavy rain to the Himalayan foothills.

A cyclonic circulation is lying over the north Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal and nearby states around July 28. Widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is very likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh till July 29 and will reduce thereafter. Isolated extremely heavy rain is also likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on July 27 and 28 and over northwest Uttar Pradesh on July 27, 2021.

IMD further predicted that isolated rainfall and widespread rainfall is likely to happen in Konkan, Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra in the upcoming three days. Rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely over east and adjoining Central India (Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar) from today.
