The T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in India later this year, is set to be held in the United Arab Emirates. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will inform the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the tournament will be moved to UAE because of the Covid-19 situation in India.
However, the ICC will not finalise the schedule for the T20 World Cup before July.
Back in May, the Indian Premier League 2021 had to be suspended because of the rising Covid-19 cases and after a few players had tested positive. The remainder of the tournament will now be played in the Middle East.
Several tournaments had to be called off or postponed in 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world. The entire Indian Premier League in 2020 was shifted to UAE and the tournament was played out without a glitch.
