The total number of active cases of Covid-19 disease in India has reached 29,935,221 on Monday after 53,256 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours. Union Health Ministry has reported 1,422 people are reportedly died yesterday and the total number of recoveries are 78,190. It takes the death and recovery toll to 388,135 and 28,844,199 respectively.
As the ministry report suggests, the total number of active cases right now across the country has fallen to 702,887 and constitute 2.44 per cent of the caseload. Yesterday’s case count was 4,893 less than that of Sunday’s when 58,419 people were detected as Covid-19 positive. This is the lowest since March 2021.
The death toll has fallen to 154 less than that of Sunday’s when 1,576 deaths were recorded. An Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) survey showed that Nearly 400 million samples have been tested for Covid-19 so far of which 1,388,699.
