BJP towards big victory in Gujarat Municipal Corporation elections

In the trends of Gujarat local body elections (Gujarat Civic Polls), BJP continues to maintain a steady lead (BJP Leads in Early Trend). Counting of votes for Surat Municipal Corporation was completed. BJP again became the largest party with 93 seats. While the Aam Aadmi Party with 27 seats became the main opposition party in the BJP stronghold. The Congress could not even open its account in the elections for Surat Municipal Corporation. The State Election Commission (SEC) said about this on Tuesday. Right now the counting of votes is going on in the seats of other municipal corporations, the picture is being projected to be clear in a few hours. Counting is going on for a total of 576 seats in the elections of six municipal corporations.Voting was held on Sunday for 576 seats in 144 wards of six municipal corporations – Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar. BJP has ruled in these municipal corporations for a long time. The counting of votes started at nine in the morning. If we talk about the 2015 civic elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party had 391 seats in Gujarat, while the Congress was reduced to 174 figures.The voting process was completed on these seats on Sunday. According to the State Election Commission, 46.1 percent voters exercised their right to vote. According to the final data released by the commission, Ahmedabad recorded the lowest turnout of 42.5 percent and Jamnagar 53.4 percent. Apart from this, there was 50.7 percent polling in Rajkot, 49.5 percent in Bhavnagar, 47.8 percent in Vadodara and 47.1 percent in Surat. According to the release, out of a total of 1.14 crore registered voters in six cities, 52.83 lakh people voted on Sunday.
